They say that all the glitters is not gold, and frankly, this drawing conveys that idea perfectly! What I especially admire this piece for is how uncomfortable it makes me. As I stare into the bug eyes of this cane, I can't help but feel the need to push my seat back and stay as far away from this unsettling face as possible. And it's not like the face just looks to the side like it does on the show. No, you have that thing directly facing the viewer, instilling this feeling of uneasiness. But what I also praise about this drawing is how freaky it is symbolically. Now that Twilight is a princess, she's being tied up by all these royal duties that she's forced to attend to. She wants to hang out with her friends, but her responsibilities as someone of high class is preventing her, and she is left upset. These obligations soon stack up, and Twilight feels that she cannot escape them. She feels like she's held up in a jail, and the barred cane represents the inability to free herself from the burden of the aristocracy. Props to you for conveying that idea. As for the technique, I love the amount of gold layers you added onto the drawing to make it look like it's made out of the same material. I also appreciate how disheartened you made Twilight look. The only thing I would advise you on is to perhaps give the background a bit more of a dark purple border, just so that more attention is drawn to the cane. But that's just me. Aside from that, I love the idea, I love how unique you made it, I love the overall technique you used, and I love how discomforted it made me feel. I must say, this illustration is simply pure gold!
